#ArtistsForLove

“This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no place for despair, no time for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. This is how civilizations heal..."

- Toni Morrison

I'm still processing the past week. We are concerned about our friends and family, our community, and our country at large. This week, we mourned. We prayed. We reached out to loved ones. The kids and I spent a lot of time this week doing service projects. We showed our kids what democracy looks like in action by calling elected officials to make our voice heard.

As a family, we are discerning how best to stand with the long list of people who are being threatened, to stand up more for injustice, to be a safe place, and to hold space for those hurting. For the long term.

Several artists including Kelly Rae Roberts, Flora Bowley, and Alisa Burke have started an art movement #ArtistsForLove

Feel free to spread the love, download the art for yourself, and share on social media. Challenge yourself to make your own art and then follow it up with action. Let this be your beginning.
